teen dec(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Nov. 20, 2012) –– Young adults are invited to join the Stillwater Public Library in a giant game of Stingy Santa at a teen Holiday Party.  The party, which will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m., is being planned by the library’s new Teen Advisory Board.

“Several of our young adult library users have started advising us on which activities to plan for teens,” said librarian Scott Freeman.  “Our intent is to get teens into the library on a regular basis so they feel comfortable coming in whenever they have informational or reading needs.”

Students in sixth through twelfth grade can sign up to attend the party which will include holiday games, refreshments and a game of Stingy Santa.  Stingy Santa is a holiday game in which each participant contributes a gift.  Each person then has a chance to open a gift or “steal” a better gift that has already been opened.

The contributed gifts can include items from home, gag gifts or a purchased gift with a value no more than $5.00.  The library staff will be adding  additional higher valued items provided by the Friends of the Library.
