ShredShred(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Jan. 1, 2013) – As part of its yearly “Get Organized” activities, the Stillwater Public Library will host a community wide shredding project on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon.  This year, a local author is helping the library sponsor this popular event.

“With the increase in gas prices, we did not think we were going to be able to host the shred this year,” said Lynda Reynolds, library director.  “That would have been disappointing since we get calls throughout the year about this event.  We are thrilled that it was one of our local authors who stepped forward to make sure the event proceeds as planned.”

The author, Mac Boyle, is a Stillwater writer.  His novel, “Right: a Novel of Politics,” is one of the many books in the library’s local author collection.  When Boyle heard about the library’s quandary, he proposed sponsoring the event himself.

“The Stillwater Public Library has been incredibly important to me and my family.  With the great work they do for the community, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”

The shredding at the event will be performed by Shred Away, a local document destruction company.  Participants at the event are invited to drive through the library parking lot and have their documents unloaded and shredded on the spot.  Up to three boxes of material will be accepted per car.  Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed from the documents.

For more information about the shredding event, visit the library’s web site at or contact the Help Desk at (405) 372-3633, ext. 106.  For more information about Boyle’s book, visit
