Volunteers:

The City of Stillwater Emergency Management Office has three full time staff members; the director, a general technician and a communications technician. The rest of the organization is made up of over 20 volunteers from the community. These volunteers are ordinary citizens who have an interest in serving the public and protecting the community in which they live. Our members have jobs such as; fireman, reservists, building maintenance supervisor, fire service training, school teachers, dispatchers, and retirees.
These are the individuals who give of their time and money to spot storms, stand barricades and are involved in special events for the community. Last calendar year these volunteers dedicated over 1,800 man hours of services to the citizens of Stillwater. They meet monthly and train regularly so they can provide the most efficient support to the City’s emergency management program.
These men and women volunteer all of their time and energy so that the community in which they live and work can be the safest possible. So the next time you get a chance to thank one of these volunteers, remember they are working for you and your family too.
