(STILLWATER, OKLA. - Dec. 3, 2012) — The Stillwater Public Library Trust received a $22,000 donation from the estate of Sue Herndon, a longtime Stillwater resident and retired OSU professor. Herndon, who enjoyed being a member of a local book club and attending classes at the library through the Osher Life Long Learning Institute, died on August 17, 2012.
“The Stillwater Public Library Trust is honored to have been a recipient of Ms. Herndon’s estate” said Lynda Reynolds, library director. “This donation will allow the Library to continue providing materials, services, and programs that will benefit our community for generations to come.”
The Stillwater Public Library Trust, created in 1984 and governed by a five member local board, encourages private donations. These donations ensure the growth, security, and perpetuity of the library by providing equipment and services not otherwise available. Past funds have been used for projects such as providing a bookmobile for homebound users and community outreach, updating computer equipment and book collections and providing testing and genealogical databases.
For information about making a year-end contribution to the Trust or to discuss including the Trust in estate planning, contact Reynolds at (405)372-3633, ext. 101 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Online donations can be made at http://library.stillwater.org/trustboard.html.
