About the project

The City of Stillwater is rolling out a new and improved residential waste collection system, and has targeted four areas to participate in the its residential Automated Waste Collection Pilot Program. The pilot program will begin this September and is scheduled to continue through February 2009. The project will be evaluated at that time for possible city-wide implementation.

A simple overview of the project is that the City of Stillwater will provide residents with their choice of a 48-, 64- or 96-gallon cart and collection will be once per week by an automated waste collection vehicle. Yard Waste Wednesday will continue as usual. The program will cost residents basically the same or a little less than current monthly bill; however, there is an additional fee if they ask for more than one cart.

We are excited about this program and encourage you to let us know how we are doing. We look forward to seeing you at the public meeting, and please contact us if you have questions in the meantime.
