Community Outreach Program (C.O.P.)

Community Outreach Program (C.O.P.)

Our mission is: "To promote positive police Interactions with the community we serve."

In June 2015, members of the Stillwater Police Department came together to set out on a mission to better serve our community with volunteered time and donated dollars. This group’s goal is to engage the citizens of the community we serve and just plain fun. The program has expanded since 2015 and includes all of the area law enforcement agencies that serve the Stillwater Community. We partner with the Payne County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma State University Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to build closer relationships with our community. We hope you will join us in our journey and assist us in making these programs a reality.

Community Outreach Programs

Shop With A Cop

This program matches officers with kids in our community to provide them a memorable holiday experience.

Cops and Bobbers

Let’s go fishing! Each spring we partner with Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to take kids and anyone else that wants to attend, fishing at Boomer Lake for a morning. ODWC provides all the gear and some fishing education clinics. There’s contests, food and fun!

First Responders Night

First Responders Night is our annual opportunity to showcase the people and equipment that serve the public safety needs of Stillwater and Payne County every day of the year. We bring out all the law enforcement agencies as well as our partners at the Stillwater Fire Department, Stillwater Emergency Management, LifeNet and the local air ambulance services. Our goals are to promote involvement in crime prevention and public safety-community partnerships.

Citizens Police Academy

Stillwater Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy provides citizens a unique look behind the scenes and a chance to experience, first-hand, how our department operates on a day-to-day basis. Our City Police Academy meets one evening a week for six weeks and culminates with an all-day Scenario Saturday where attendees are the officers.?

Philanthropies

The Stillwater C.O.P. organizes and hosts several fund-raising events throughout the year. Events include charity basketball tournaments and benefit nights at various local restaurants. The Stillwater Police Department has a long history of supporting the Oklahoma Special Olympics through fund-raising efforts, including Tip a Cop and The Polar Plunge.
