The City of Stillwater has several resources available through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Kara Niccum, M.S., LMFT, LADC is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
She received her M.S. in marriage and family therapy in 2007 and her B.A. in psychology in 2003. Kara has work experience in both in-patient and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment facilities (Tulsa Women & Children’s Center and presently at Oklahoma State University’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center).
In addition, she has work experience in an outpatient marriage and family therapy clinic and in the field of domestic violence (The Center for Family Services and Stillwater Domestic Violence Services). She is knowledgeable in treating individuals, couples, and families with a range of difficulties including, substance use disorders, mental illness (i.e. anxiety and depression), stress, couple and family conflict, parent-child strain, trauma, and grief.
Kara believes that the most effective therapeutic treatment is collaborative, time-limited, and aimed at alleviating the presenting problem. As a City of Stillwater employee you are eligible for six sessions per calendar year.
