Finance Department

We are responsible for all financial and accounting services and various financial reports—both internal and external—for the City of Stillwater. With a focus on quality and integrity, we strive to provide excellent customer service for other departments, the Stillwater City Council and Stillwater citizens.

For more than three decades, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Finance Department the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Stillwater for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The certificate recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.


Responsibilities

  • Accounting (financial transactions, payroll and financial audits)

  • Accounts Payable (payment of invoices)

  • Purchasing (purchase order processing and purchasing procedures)

  • Treasury Management (cash management and investment of city funds)

  • Accounts Receivable (Rural Fire Contract accounts, hotel/motel tax and assessment districts)

  • Financial Planning (budget, capital improvement plan and debt service)

  • Grants Division
