Engineering - Water Utilities

The Water Utilities Engineering Department is responsible for upgrading, replacing and expanding the City's water and wastewater utility infrastructure, for providing technical support services to the Water Utilities Department and for Environmental Programs, which support all City Departments.

The City of Stillwater is a utility member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). The AWWA is the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to management and treatment of water. The association creates products, services and information that help utilities inform the public, safeguard public health, improve day-to-day operations, protect the environment, strengthen the economy and enhance our quality of life.


Divisions:

  • Engineering and Planning: Responsible for implementation of studies, utility master planning, system modeling, GIS, and development of the City's water utility design and construction standards. The Engineering Division provides technical support for both the Capital Project Division and the Water Utilities Department, as well as other departments.

  • Capital Program: Oversees water and wastewater infrastructure long-term planning, capital improvement plan (CIP) development, capital budgeting and construction-related projects. Project phases typically include design, land acquisition, permitting, bidding and construction oversight.
