What We're Doing

The City is microsurfacing several streets as part of the FY20 Pavement Management Program

Anticipated Milestones

  • Anticipated Date (Design): 2.2021

  • Anticipated Date (Construction): 9.2021

  • Anticipated Date (Completion): 10.2021

Benefits of the Project

Microsurfacing is a cost-effective method to renew the road surface and seal minor cracks and other irregularities with a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction. This protective seal coat extends the life of the pavement and improves the ride until resurfacing or reconstruction becomes necessary. Roadways selected for microsurfacing treatment are commonly those which have slight to moderate distress, no rutting, and generally narrow crack widths.
