The City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Utilities Authority will be connecting existing dead-end water lines throughout the water distribution system.
Connecting dead-end water lines will aid in better water quality.
February 7, 2017: Keystone Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. have been hired to provide design services.
November 15, 2017: Pre-bid Conference scheduled for November 20th and Bid Opening scheduled for December 13th.
December 18, 2017: Two Pre-bid conferences were held and Bid Opening has been rescheduled for January 10, 2018.
January 23, 2018: Bid was awarded to Downey Contracting, LLC. Construction is scheduled to begin in late February.
February 27, 2018: Pre-Construction meeting is scheduled for March 6th.
March 16, 2018: Notice to Proceed was issued for March 19, 2018. Downey Contracting will begin potholing each site to locate existing underground utilities.
May 3, 2018: Downey Contracting has constructed new water line at four sites. Progress continues with construction at 11th and Washington, 10th and Chester, and 19th and Elvin.
June 5, 2018: Progress continues with construction on 10th Avenue between Lowry and Chester.
July 13, 2018: Five of the 16 site have been completed. Progress continues on Stallard & Eastern, and on Husband.
August 31, 2018: The contractor has completed nine sites and two sites are currently in construction. The estimated total project completion is mid October.
October 2, 2018: The contractor is currently working on two sites in the Wildwood subdivision.Two additional sites (one near Western and 3rd, and one near Tyler and Burdick) remain and will begin in the next two weeks. Final restoration work on all sites will progress through November.
November 12, 2018: All 16 Sites from the original contract are now complete. The contractor is currently working on punch list items and restoration. Enough money was left in the budget to allow an additional site (11th Ave between Pine and Gray) to be added to the contract. Work will begin on this site in the next couple weeks.
January 22, 2019: The contractor has completed work on all sites and will return in the spring to lay sod where it's needed.
March 29, 2019: The contractor is currently visiting all the sites and installing sod where needed.
April 5, 2019: The contractor has achieved readiness for final payment and is currently in the one-year warranty phase.
