What We're Doing

Installing new skate park at Strickland Park.


How We're Paying For It

This Community Development Block Grant project was financed in whole or in part by funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Stillwater City Council selected the skate park renovations as the recipient of the 2017 Community Development Block Grant at its regular meeting on May 1, 2017.

The projected cost of the project is $242,254. The Community Development Block Grant allocation is for $121,127.

The CDBG grant has a required one-to-one match for funding. Stillwater City Council approves the project(s) and funding and the City of Stillwater administers the project(s).

Updates

05.08.2018: Notice to proceed given to the contractor, Spohn Ranch.

07.20018: Construction scheduled to begin the week of July 30, 2018.

09.26. 2018: Earthwork is proceeding along with the installation of steel and forms in preparation of installation of concrete.

10.23.2018:  Crews have started to install concrete on the skate elements.

01.14.2019:  Contractor has completed the install of concrete for the skate area. Work continues on concrete pads for benches and bleachers. Also to be installed is a water fountain. Once these are installed, sod will be installed. Estimated time of completion is the end of February.
