(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Oct. 1, 2012) –– The Stillwater Public Library will host a free workshop on grant seeking for nonprofit organizations, Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The “Finding Funders” workshop will be led by Kief Schladweiler from the Foundation Center.
“Grant workshops are part of an array of services we offer non-profit organizations,” said Lynda Reynolds, library director. “We started by providing the Nonprofit Resource Center which has three important grant finding databases. We hope community organizations will take the next step by learning some of the Foundation Center’s most successful grant seeking strategies.”
Schladweiler, the Foundation Center’s Coordinator of Cooperating Collections has provided grant seeking classes to non-profits across the country. In this workshop, Schladweiler will outline strategies for locating and communicating with potential funders.
“This class gives you insight into the grant seeking and grant making processes, focusing on the many opportunities for communication between grant seekers and potential funders,” said Schadweiler. “You will learn how to initiate contact with potential funders; plan calls, meetings and site visits; and effectively communicate with funders during the grant process.”
