Waste Management Providing Services, Some Delays Possible

Released:Jan 18, 2022

(STILLWATER, OK) – City of Stillwater Waste Management department is experiencing delays and/or postponements with some services. Residents and businesses are asked to place trash and recycling bins out by 6 a.m. on their usual pick-up day. Trash will be collected but it may be much later in the day than usual.

“Mainly due to Covid and illness, and a couple of unfilled vacancies, we had to make temporary adjustments to the provided services. We are monitoring the situation and making decisions as quickly as possible based on available staff. With the current health situation, delays could last throughout the next couple of weeks,” said Chris Knight, Waste Management Director.

Other services provided through Waste Management, such as street sweeping, yard waste, and roll-off will be postponed, as needed. Street sweeping has been cancelled for this week. Yard waste may not be picked up tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 19, that final decision has not yet been made.

Knight reminded that trash pick-up is the priority and requests residents to leave the bins on the curbs, even if later in the day, until the waste has been picked up.
