ANNOUNCEMENT

Community Resiliency Award

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Nov. 23, 2020) – Here’s some positivity for your day: a local group known as Love STW recently received the Community Resiliency award for their efforts to bring positivity, vibrancy and growth to Stillwater through a designated Stillwater Day of Gratitude.

The Love STW group, a citizen-lead community effort to revitalize Stillwater, established November 13 as a Stillwater Day of Gratitude in tandem with World Kindness Day. The group encouraged the community to thank those who work to keep Stillwater great on this day by displaying an act of kindness, giving a gift or by a simple ‘thank you.’ The group’s success led to its acceptance of the Community Resiliency Award, given by the Vibrant Community Partners group.

“I am excited to have this recognition for our community. Through the efforts of some local citizens with resource support from the City of Stillwater, Vibrant Community Partners visited Stillwater in January. The visit left an impression of how we can work together to build on the great things already going for our community,” group member and Assistant City Manager Paula Dennison said. “This award comes at a time when we all need that extra bit of positive in our day.”

Beyond the Stillwater Day of Gratitude, the group continues to work toward goals of improving the community through quality-of-life efforts like investment in Stillwater through citizen-led visioning and vibrant community development.
