Drowning victim located at Boomer Lake

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / 08-14-2020) — Yesterday at 9:40 p.m., Stillwater 911 received a call advising an overturned kayak with fishing gear and a pair of boots was found floating in the north end of Boomer Lake.

Stillwater Police, Stillwater Fire and Stillwater Emergency Management responded to assist with a search of the lake. A search by boat, drone and helicopter did not locate a drowning victim on the surface of the lake. The search was suspended around 11 p.m. due to darkness.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Dive Team was called in to assist and the search resumed early this morning after daylight.

At 9:30 a.m. a drowning victim was located approximately 130 feet from the kayak. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Blake McSparrin of Stillwater.
