Animal Welfare: business operations changed

MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / April 8, 2020) – Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Stillwater Animal Welfare is altering business operations in order to prevent the spread of the virus. These changes will remain in effect until City emergency proclamations expire. 

Business operations during the pandemic are as follows:

  • The shelter will not accept owned pets.
  • Found pets will be accepted by appointment. Call 405.372.0334 to schedule an appointment to bring a found pet in or schedule a pick up. 
  • Volunteers are not accepted.
  • Call to report lost pets as usual. 

  • During weekends or after shelter hours, animal welfare officers will only respond to emergencies, such as aggressive or injured animals. Call the police non-emergency line at 405.372.4171.

  • Adoptions are still accepted and encouraged. Call the shelter to schedule an appointment. 

  • Visitors who are not adopting or are not looking for a lost pet will not be accepted.

Residents visiting the shelter for any reason should call ahead and practice social distancing and sanitation.
