City to resume trash collection services

UPDATE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / April 30, 2020) — After suspending selected trash collection services in light of the COVID-19 pandemic , the City of Stillwater will resume the following residential and commercial waste collection services on Thursday, May 7.

  • Resume curbside collection of the pay-as-you-throw blue trash bags.
  • Scheduled special clean ups will proceed as usual.
  • Resume the move-in pickup special.
  • Commercial dumpsters collection will proceed as usual.

City of Stillwater to suspend selected trash collection services

MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / April 3, 2020) — To reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus for city workers, the City of Stillwater is suspending indefinitely several residential and commercial trash collection services starting Wednesday, April 8.

These services include the following:

  • Suspension of curbside collection of the pay-as-you-throw blue trash bags. Customers may take pay-as-you-throw blue trash bags to the Convenience Collection Center,  807 S. Perkins Road.
  • Changes to scheduled special cleanups. Items for collection must be placed three feet from the curb and clear of all obstructions. City workers will not move or rearrange any items. If items are not accessible for collection by city equipment, they will be left at the curb.
  • Suspension of the move-in pickup special. The City will not be collecting moving boxes and packing materials at this time.
  • Changes to commercial dumpsters collection. The City will empty dumpsters; however, workers will not be collect trash that is not in the dumpster.

The Convenience Collection Center remains open. Hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday and Monday and city-observed holidays
