You're invited: upcoming Hazard Mitigation Community Town Hall

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / March 5, 2020) – Don’t miss this event—learn about the Stillwater community’s hazard mitigation and master drainage plan and visit with local guests at the upcoming Hazard Mitigation Community Town Hall. The event will take place Thursday, March 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lowry Activity Center within the Stillwater Community Center, 315 W. 8th Ave.

Anyone is welcome to attend. Various speakers, a presentation of the plan, and a demonstration of the newest technology used to prepare Stillwater in the case of emergency are on the schedule.

Guests include: Matt Rollins and Mark Gower from Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM), representatives of Disaster Resilience Network, Meshek, LLC, representatives of Stillwater Public Schools, and representatives of the City of Stillwater from Stormwater Programs, city engineering, the Stillwater Regional Airport, Stillwater Police Department, Stillwater Fire Department, and Stillwater Emergency Management.

Holding a community meeting is a required part of the Hazard Mitigation Plan update process. Stillwater Emergency Management will submit this proposed plan to Oklahoma Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for approval, with plans to formally adopt it in August 2020.
