Rescheduled: Rain Barrel Pickup Event

Released:May 21, 2020

ANNOUNCEMENT

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / May 21, 2020) – The pickup event for Stillwater residents who have ordered rain barrels through the Central Oklahoma Stormwater Alliance has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Convenience Collection Center, 807 S. Perkins Road.

If you are interested in purchasing a rain barrel, online orders will be accepted until Sunday, May 24.

The rain barrels are made from repurposed food-grade barrels and can be purchased online for $63.50 at http://www.upcycle-products.com/static.asp?path=6760. The barrels are offered in black, grey, blue and terra cotta colors.

Rain barrels capture water from roofs and hold it for later use. The stored water can then be used to water lawns and gardens, wash cars or for similar uses. When runoff leaves a property, it can pick up pollution and deposit into our waterways. Using rain barrels helps to reduce stormwater pollution by minimizing the amount of stormwater runoff that leaves a site.
