Summer swim, tennis lessons registration now open

MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / April 24, 2017) – Registration is now open for the City of Stillwater's summer swim and tennis lesson programs.

To enroll in a program, download and fill out the activity registration form at http://stillwater.org or go to the City of Stillwater Armory Recreation Center at 315 E. 9th Ave. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Season passes and punch cards for the City of Stillwater Municipal Pool are also available for purchase at the Armory Recreation Center.


Learn to Swim Program

The Learn to Swim program offers classes for youth, adults, and parents and tots at the City of Stillwater Municipal Pool at 801 E.12 Ave. Classes are outlined and designed by the American Red Cross and certified lifeguards will supervise.

Youth sessions are offered for children ages 3 and 4 through Level 6 advanced swimmers. Cost is $50 per session and each session lasts 45 minutes. Youth sessions last two weeks and are held Monday through Thursday, with Friday reserved for makeup days.

Parent and tot sessions are for parents and children ages 6 months to 2 years. Each session lasts 30 minutes and costs $50 per session. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for makeup days.

Junior lifeguard sessions are offered Monday through Thursday for 45 minutes and last four weeks. The cost is $80 per session and the recommended age is 10 to 15.

City of Stillwater Municipal Pool

The municipal pool opens for the season on Saturday, May 27 and features half-price admission. Lap swim is every day from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. and open swim is every day from 1 to 5 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Concessions are available every day from 1 to 5 p.m.

Tennis Lesson Program

Tennis lessons are also available for beginners and advanced beginners. Participants will need to provide their own rackets. Each class will last 45 minutes and cost is $50 per person per session.

Lessons are at the Couch Park tennis courts at 823 E. 12th Ave.

Splash Pads

The Boomer Lake and Southern Woods splash pads will open for the season on Monday, May 22. Both splash pads are open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., but hours may vary depending on the weather. The splash pads are free and open to the public.
