SPD: Robbery arrest

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / 12-21-2016) — Early Wednesday morning December 21, 2016, at 12:26am Stillwater officers were dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred in the 100 block S. Knoblock St. Four victims were robbed and their wallets taken by lone suspect stating he had a gun. The suspect fled on foot. Witnesses and victims were able to provide a thorough description of the robbery suspect that included a potential first name of “Harold”.  After the suspect description was broadcast Oklahoma State University P.D. officers informed S.P.D. they had contacted a subject named Harold T. Wright on campus in the area of the robbery shortly after the robbery occured.  Wright’s clothing matched the robbery suspect’s clothing.

At 1:53am a man matching the suspect description was located in the IHOP restaurant at 611 N. Main street eating breakfast. That person, Harold T. Wright contacted by officers and subsequently identified as the robbery suspect.  Wright was taken into custody for armed robbery. Wright did not have a weapon in his possession at the time of arrest. 

During the search of Wright’s person subsequent to the arrest he was found to have items that were taken in a burglary.  That burglary had been reported to Stillwater P.D. shortly after 1:30am on December 21, 2016. The burglary occurred sometime between 10:00pm on the 20th and 1:30am on the 21st in the 600 block N. Duck St. As a result Wright was also charged with knowingly concealing stolen property.
