(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Feb. 20, 2013) – The Stillwater Public Library will present a class about online bargain hunting on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. The class will include techniques for finding discounts and using online tools to reduce costs.
“I have done over half of my family’s non-grocery shopping on the Internet over the past three years,” said Scott Freeman, librarian. “Using the techniques I’ll share in class, we’ve saved well over half the price of buying items retail.”
Freeman plans to cover a variety of cost cutting techniques including:
- Finding stores that provide discounts and send automatic savings alerts;
- Ways to price check store items against the web;
- Getting significant savings on travel and entertainment expenses;
- Getting free items;
- Minimizing junk mail while discount shopping;
- Making secure purchases online; and
- Using internet applications to easily receive savings.
“There are many great online tools that will take the headache from searching for discounts,” said Freeman. “One tool I use will automatically provide competitive pricing from other online stores as soon as I navigate to a product I want to buy.”
The library’s online bargain class is free and open to the public. Registration is requested. To sign-up, visit the library website at http://library.stillwater.org/, call 405-372-3633 x106, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
