Job interview tips given at Stillwater Public Library July 17

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / June 22, 2012) – “Tell me about yourself.”  “Why do you want to work for us?”  “Why are you leaving your present job?”  “Why should we hire you?”  Navigating the minefield of questions during a job interview is a daunting task that can leave even the most confident person feeling nervous and unsure.  

On Tuesday, July 17, Carey Seigle, manager for Workforce Oklahoma, will present “Interview Skills” at the Stillwater Public Library.  The class will help participants tackle these hard questions as well as other issues that arise before, during and after a job interview. 

“I’ve interviewed, hired, and not hired hundreds of people in the last 35 years,” said Seigle. “During an interview, you are being judged on everything from how you are dressed to how you answer questions to the way you interact with the employer’s staff.  All of these details are important, and I can share the tips and hints that work best.”

“Interview Skills” begins at 7 p.m. in Room 119 of the library.  The program is free and open to the public.  To register, please email, call (405) 372-3633, ext. 106 or stop by the library’s Help Desk.  Participants are encouraged to submit their questions about interviews when they register for the program.  Seigle will address these questions during the class.
