Q. Where is the Stillwater Police Department located?
A. The Stillwater Police Department is located at 723 South Lewis, in the City of Stillwater. The entrance is on the southeast corner of 7th and Lewis, directly north of the entrance to the City of Stillwater Municipal Building.

Q. How can I get a copy of a police report?
A. A copy of a completed incident or accident report can be picked up from SPD’s Records Division, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Stillwater Police Department DOES NOT FAX POLICE REPORTS.
Q. Does the Police Department help with Internet Safety?
A. The Stillwater Police Department has compiled a list of available resources related to Internet Safety.
Q. Do Police Officers patrol the city 24 hours per day?
A. Yes – SPD’s Patrol Division, Central Communications Division and Detention Center are operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, in order to provide both emergency and non-emergency services.
Q. Does SPD have any plain-clothes or undercover police officers?
A. Yes – There are several such officers, from different SPD Divisions, who work in a variety of capacities. All such officers carry a Stillwater Police Department badge and Identification Card.
Q. How long does a person have to be missing before I can make a police report?
A. There is no time limit. The situation and circumstances will determine the appropriate response.
Q. Does the City of Stillwater have a curfew for juveniles?
A. No – Stillwater does not currently have a curfew ordinance.

Q. Can I make an anonymous tip to the Stillwater Police Department?
A. Yes – The Stillwater Police Department’s anonymous tip line is (405) 742-8327.
Q. When do the Animal Welfare Officers work, and whom do we contact after business hours, on holidays, and on weekends?
A. Animal Welfare Officers work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In case of an emergency (i.e. animal bites or vicious animals at large) after hours, on holidays, and on weekends, you can contact SPD at (405) 372-4171. IF IT IS NOT AN EMERGENCY, you may leave a message on the Animal Welfare answering machine at (405) 372-0334; Animal Welfare Officers will receive the message the next business day.
Q. What are Animal Welfare’s Impound Procedures for Animals?
A. Should a pet become impounded by Animal Welfare, every reasonable effort will be made to attempt to locate the owner. Animals which are in good health and have stable temperaments, with no known legal owner, will be offered for adoption.
Q. Does the Stillwater Police Department conduct a ride-along program?
A. Yes – The Stillwater Police Department does conduct a ride-along program allowing any citizen, without a conviction for a felony or serious misdemeanor, to ride on patrol with a police officer during his routine shift. Q. Does the Stillwater Police Department have a volunteer or Reserve Officer Program?
A. No – The Stillwater Police Department does not operate a citizen volunteer or Reserve Officer Program. Although there are a limited number of Reserve Police Officers working for the SPD. These include medical personnel who are part of our department’s tactical team, a department chaplain, and a department psychologist.
Q. Does the Stillwater Police Department operate a Youth Explorer Post?
A. No – The Stillwater Police Department does not have an explorer program.
Q. Are Stillwater Police Officers allowed to work off-duty security assignments?
A. Yes – Stillwater Police Officers are allowed to work off-duty security assignments, provided the assignments are arranged through the department. If you are interested in hiring an off-duty police officer, please contact the Services Bureau Captain at (405) 742-8287. ****POLICE OFFICERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK AT ANY ESTABLISHMENT THAT SERVES ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE OFF-DUTY CAPACITY.
