163-21 Transportation & Drainage Engineering Technician I, II, III: Assist the City Engineering department and other City departments in the performance of various engineering and surveying related duties. These duties include general civil engineering work, office work, and other duties as assigned. The position is part of an Engineering Technician progression classification that fills the position at levels commensurate with a candidate’s training and experience. This position reports to the Transportation and Drainage Manager.
Requirements: Engineering Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent; two years of related engineering, construction, and/or surveying skills; experience with AutoCAD, Microstation or other common CAD software and a valid driver’s license.
Engineering Technician II: Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Surveying, or related Engineering field; four years of progressively responsible and varied engineering work experience; two years experience with Autocad, Microstation, or other common CAD software and a valid driver’s license.
Engineering Technician III: Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying or related Engineering field; eight years of progressively responsible and varied engineering work experience; four years experience with Autocad, Microstation or other common CAD software and a valid driver’s license.
Starting rate: $17.49 - $20.89 per hour DOQ plus comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and retirement.
