- 86-13 Building Official (Development Services)
Stillwater, Oklahoma, an energetic university city with community values, has an opening for Building Official. The position requires an experienced and progressive professional with excellent customer service and communication skills to perform a variety of duties including staff management, contract management, building and fire plan review, development of compliance procedures, interpretations to assure compliance with regulations, and inspection of a variety of building sites and facilities. Ideal candidate must possess a broad and deep range of building code and building construction knowledge, including but not limited to trades. ICC certifications required. Perform advanced professional inspection, plan review, property maintenance enforcement and code enforcement for all buildings, existing and proposed, and administer the application of the various adopted construction codes within the City of Stillwater and outside the corporate limits as authorized. Minimum position requirements: Extensive public contact experience, strong customer service skills, three years of experience in the building construction industry; three years practical experience in building, plumbing, mechanical or electrical work; ICC residential inspector certification in all disciplines; ICC certification in residential plan review within 12 months of hire; One discipline of ICC commercial inspector certification (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building) within 6 months of hire; Oklahoma inspector`s license in discipline(s) for which certified within 6 months of hire; ICC residential and commercial inspector certification in all disciplines within 4 years of hire; and valid Oklahoma driver`s license, or ability to obtain within one month. Manage, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Adult Services Department of the Stillwater Public Library in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Duties will include: plan and organize workloads and staff assignments; select, train, and evaluate assigned staff; manage maintenance of library website and databases; manage adult and teen programming; provide reference and reader’s advisory; operate Library automation system (SIRSI/Symphony) including the generation of statistical and activities reports; prepare a variety of reports, news releases, and grant applications; recommend materials for selection and de-selection. Responsible for the operation of the City jail facilities and the welfare of the prisoners confined therein. Process prisoners that are brought to jail facilities entering pertinent information into the computer, search all prisoners that are processed, receive, store and safeguard personal property of prisoners, and other related duties. - 96-13 Shelver Part-Time (Library)
The Stillwater Public Library is accepting applications for a part-time Shelver. The position duties include shelving books and audio visual materials, straightening/organizing shelves, reading shelves for proper print or AV material order, organizing materials to be shelved, and assisting in opening and closing procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License are required. The current schedule is Monday 5:00 – 9:00, Thursday 5:00 – 9:00, Friday 2:00 – 6:00, Saturday 8:30 – 11:30, and Sunday 12:00 – 5:00, with up to 5 additional hours required during June and July. Starting rate is $7.35/hr. Closing Date 12/20/13
- 98-13 – Office Aide (Park & Recreation)
Assist Parks Events and Recreation staff with communicating information to participants by answering phone calls and messages, relaying schedule changes, and other program information. A High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license is required. Starting salary: $7.80, approximately 20-25 hours a week working evenings and weekends. Closing date: 12/20/13
- Basketball Officials (Parks & Recreation)
Officiate youth and adult basketball games. Season goes from 11-13 through 02-14. Department will train. Games are Monday - Friday evenings, all day Saturday, and some Sunday afternoons. First year officials are paid $12.14/hr. and a returning official is paid $13.27/hr.
Hiring is subject to passing a pre-employment drug screen and successful background check. Successful candidates will be required to furnish a copy, at their expense, of their driving record prior to employment.
