(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Dec. 2, 2011) – Children and adults of all ages can remember exactly when they started to become skeptical about Santa Claus.  How can his sleigh fly?  Can he really go down chimneys?  How does he make it around the world in just one night?  Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 4 p.m., The Mad Scientist will present “The Case for Santa Claus” at the Stillwater Public Library where she will provide scientific explanations for Santa’s magic.

“Santa Claus is a wonderful facet of the holidays,” said Nikole Kelty, children’s librarian. “However, the mystery that makes Santa so exciting to children also makes them skeptical as they grow older.  Hopefully, the Mad Scientist’s explanations will help kids hang on to that magic a little longer.”

Mad Science specializes in educational and entertaining programming for children that presents science in a visual and interactive manner to spark imagination and curiosity.  Using simple scientific theories and experiments, children will see how Santa can squeeze down a chimney and go back up, how he gets his reindeer to fly and many other abilities attributed to Santa.

“The Case for Santa Claus” will be a high energy, funny and exciting learning experience suitable for the whole family.  The free program is open to the public and made possible by The Friends of the Library.
