Oklahoma Girl Scout murder author visits library May 14
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / May 4, 2011) – In 1977, Oklahoma was shocked by the murder of three young Girl Scouts at Camp Scout. Gene Leroy Hart was was tried for the murders, but acquitted. The case remains unsolved.
On Saturday, May 14 at 1 p.m. Gloyd McCoy, will visit the Stillwater Public Library, 1107. S. Duck, to discuss the murders, the trial and his upcoming book, "Tent Number 8: An Investigation of the Girl Scout Murders and the Trial of Gene Leroy Hart.” The book is scheduled for release in June.
"I think one hundred years from now, people will say, 'Well, what's the biggest case in Oklahoma history?' And people will say this case,” said McCoy.
The program is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by Friends of the Library and KOSU.
