'Born to do Science': Kids science program returns to Stillwater Public Library
Enjoy interactive presentations lead by local working scientists with fun, wacky science songs by Monty Harper
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / March 24, 2011) –Monty Harper and his cadre of scientists will be making Saturday visits to the Stillwater Public Library this year. The “Born to Do Science” series hosted by Harper, local children’s songwriter, is making the switch to Saturdays to accommodate working parents who wish to attend the classes with their children.
“Our science program has been popular with entire families,” said Sue Busch, children’s librarian. “By switching to weekends, we’ll give a lot more parents the chance to spend quality learning time with their children.”
“Born to Do Science” classes will be held in Room 119 at 10 a.m. on April 24 and May 21. The classes include interactive presentations by local working scientists, fun and wacky science songs by Harper, and hands-on science activities.
Enrollment for the free classes is required. Participants are limited to third through sixth graders and their families. Parents are asked to make separate child care arrangements for family members in second grade or younger.
