Stillwater Rural Fire Service contract for 2012 available
![]() |
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Nov. 15, 2011) — The City of Stillwater is now accepting renewals and new applications for the Rural Fire Service Contract for calendar year 2012.
The Rural Fire Service Contract allows property owners to minimize the cost of rural fire service fees in the event of a fire response to property outside the corporate city limits. The response fee for fire service is set by City of Stillwater ordinance at $500 minimum and a maximum of $2,000 per incident for contracted properties. When the property is not covered under a Rural Fire Service Contract, a minimum charge of $500 applies and there is no limit on the maximum fire charges.
The Stillwater Fire Administration encourages those outside the Stillwater city limits to evaluate their current insurance coverage and consider participating in the Stillwater Rural Fire Contract Program to ensure that you are adequately protected in the event of an unforeseen emergency.
To purchase a Rural Fire Service Contract, stop by 723 S. Lewis or download the form at stillwater.org. Complete and return contract with payment of $100 to the utility payment window at Stillwater Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis St. Notary services will be available for new contract applicants. Renewals may be mailed back to Customer Service/P.O. Box 1449/Stillwater, OK 74076.
A separate Rural Fire Service Contract is required for customers that have multiple rural properties that are not adjacent or adjoining the property with a Rural Fire Service Contract.
