Canceled: Stillwater Public Library to cancel Nintendo Wii Madden ‘10 Tournament due to weather

Stillwater Public Library to host Nintendo Wii Madden ‘10 Tournament for adults (Jan. 28) and teens (Jan. 30). Prizes!

The library’s first Nintendo Wii Madden Tournament

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Jan. 6, 2010) –– The two long weeks between the AFC/NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl can seem endless for diehard football fans, so this year, the Stillwater Public Library is filling that void. 

On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. adults 18 and older can participate in the library’s first Nintendo Wii Madden Tournament.  A tournament for teens will take place Saturday, Jan. 30 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The tournament will pit players against each other at four gaming stations as they prove their skills at the popular football simulator for the Nintendo Wii video game console.

Each game will consist of two five-minutes halves and the contest will be single elimination.  Each player may choose their own NFL team.  Participants can play in either a beginner or advanced bracket. A $50 Hasting gift certificates will be awarded to the adult tournament winners.  The teen winners will receive a $20 gift certificate.

The tournament is free and open to the public.  Pizza and soda will be provided.

Registration is required to participate in the tournament, and space is limited.  Interested individuals should contact the help desk to register.   Participants can also register at http://gtsystem.org. on the day of the event.
