Register your toddler for the Library's lapsit storytime; Sessions begin Feb. 4

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Nov. 18, 2009) –Beginning Jan. 19, parents, grandparents, and caregivers may register toddlers for the Stillwater Public Library's Early Learning Lapsit Program.  This fun-filled storytime includes age-appropriate books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays.

“Lapsit is such a fun time for the children,” Lapsit coordinator Levonn Collins said.  “It helps with language development as children begin to associate sounds with pictures in the books.  It is also a wonderful opportunity for children and their caregivers to bond.”

Lapsit is appropriate for toddlers ages 9 to 22 months.  A caregiver in attendance is required.  The eight-week program begins Thursday, Feb .4 and two sessions are available, at 9:30 a.m. or 6:30 p.m.

The program is free and open to the public, but each session is limited to ten child/caregiver pairs.  Those interested in lapsit may register at the Children's Reference Desk or online at library.stillwater.org.

For more information, call (405)372.3633, or visit the web site.

Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The Stillwater Public Library is located at 1107 S. Duck St. (the corner of Duck and 12th Ave.). Library programs are co-sponsored by KOSU 91.7 fm.
