(STILLWATER, OKLA.) — Stillwater Star West managing partner, Howard Aufleger of CStar, is proud to announce that ShowBiz Cinemas will be coming soon to the west side of Stillwater on Highway 51.
“The desire for a first-class theater in Stillwater has been a passion of mine for nearly five years. I am very thankful that my partners of Stillwater Star West were patient with me in my pursuit of a theater,” said Aufleger. “After working with several other theater companies, I am very excited that Showbiz Cinemas looked at Stillwater with the same enthusiasm as I have. I feel their desire to become a part of the community will make them a great partner in promoting and improving the future growth and quality of entertainment in our city.”
ShowBiz Cinemas is proposing to build a 12-screen all stadium movie theatre. The 40,000 square foot building will house first run movies, comfortable rocking seats, cup holder armrests, state-of-the-art sound, digital projection and wall-to-wall screens. The large common area will feature café seating, concessions and video games. Concessions will include fresh popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, candy, sodas, gourmet coffee and ice cream.
After working for over a year to sell Stillwater to ShowBiz Cinemas, an agreement has been made. The agreement is the work of many people in the community: Mayor Roger McMillian, Stillwater Chamber representatives Joseph Alexander and Joe Weaver of OSU all played a vital role in the decision to bring ShowBiz Cinemas to Stillwater.
“The combined community effort and assistance by local leaders has allowed us the ability to add a top-of-the-line entertainment option for the Stillwater region,” said Mayor McMillian.
“I commend the City Council for their open-minded approach to enhancing the quality of life for Stillwater residents. Now, OSU students and visitors also have additional entertainment options,” said Weaver, Convention & Visitors Bureau chairman.
Cristy Morrison, Convention & Visitors Bureau executive director, followed up by stating, “Most people in sales promote a product or a service. When you promote a destination you are always looking for additional ‘products’ to add to the community mix. The staff of the CVB is looking forward to adding the theater to our promotional efforts.”
Kevin Mitchell, CEO of ShowBiz Cinemas, brings experience in the theatre industry and a quality product that every Stillwater resident will enjoy and appreciate. The management team of ShowBiz Cinemas is excited about their future in Stillwater and proud to be a part of the rapid growth and development of our city.
“We are very excited about pursuing an active part in the Stillwater community,” said Mitchell. “We look forward to working closely with the city of Stillwater, Oklahoma State University and Stillwater Public Schools on gaining knowledge regarding the needs of the community and what role we can play to help meet those needs. Our goal at ShowBiz Cinemas is to provide a first class movie going experience to every patron.”
