City of Stillwater ARRA-Funded Economic Recovery

Funding requested for the airport is for a runway improvement project.

Parks and Recreation
Projects in this department include new, more efficient field lighting at municipally owned ball parks and a completed bicycle route through Stillwater.
Total requested: $209,300
Status: Project approved by the Department of Energy. Specifications for the bid and purchase of ball park lights are being developed. Construction will set to begin in August 2010. The Water Utilities Department applied for ARRA (Stimulus) Funding through 2 sources: the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Loan Program for water projects and the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Loan Program for wastewater projects. ODEQ and OWRB approved the City’s applications in August 2009.
- Water Treatment and Water Distribution Divisions: Total approved request was $11.6 Million.
- Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment Divisions: Total approved request was $2.5 Million.

- Stillwater Police Department
The bulk of the funding requested by the Police Department will be spent on developing and interstate automated license plate recognition system.
